Commercial Life Insurance Actuary
Job Description Apply: Commercial Life Insurance Actuary
One of the leading players in the life insurance industry are seeking to hire an ambitious and commercially minded Life Insurance / Investments Actuary for a newly created role in a rapidly growing new business area. This will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain rapid exposure to a wide range of teams responsible for managing the distribution of a range of products (Individual annuities, BPA and Equity release mortgages) and assessing the performance of those, as well as working closely with the asset focused teams who manage the capital optimisation and reinsurance arrangements.
This is the fastest growing business line in the Group, and with significant senior stakeholder exposure to heads of a wide range of teams and the FD. In this high growth area, you will face off with pricing, capital management, reporting, resinsurance, ALM and insurance solutions.
Essentially, the key skills required for this role is someone who has demonstrable experience of making process improvements. This could be from within a capital management / financial reporting role at a life insurer where you have not simply handle turned, or could be from pricing, ALM or potentially even pensions / investment consulting. You don't need to have relevant product exposure. An appreciation of Matching Adjustment rules and exposure to an Internal Model would be beneficial, but softer skills and a commercial mindset is the priority. This might suit someone who has acted in a Finance Business Partner role or Strategic Financial Planning role, or someone working at a consulting firm looking for a varied role in the industry.
It is focused on using information to help senior management make better commercial decisions and to better articulate strategy to investors. It's more high level numbers for decisions making and quantifying decision making to know what levers to pull in the business with an opportunity to collaborate across a wide range of teams.
This is high profile work at the centre of group strategy and working with some really good people. Skills which are central to being relevant in the industry. You’ll get exposure to a wide range of complex assets.
This is a very exciting role. To avoid missing out, please apply immediately to Bradley Grant:
