Job Description Apply: Business Development Manager - Life Insurance

Goodman Masson are working with a global actuarial and risk management consulting firm headquartered in the UK. They provide cutting-edge financial modelling software to financial institutions around the world as well as actuarial and risk management consulting services. With an already well-established global client base, they have exciting plans to develop and grow the business further.

To help achieve this expansion, my client is creating a new position of Business Development Manager for EMEA.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and prospecting new growth and upselling opportunities
  • Lead or contribute to the development of the company’s intellectual capital, including plans for taking this to market
  • Think issues through and devise new approaches for creating opportunities
  • Defining and applying sales strategies to grow their client base.
  • Working with other team and business unit leaders to provide the best response to the customers’ needs
  • Managing relationships within EMEA insurance ecosystem (supervisors, associations, clients, prospects, partners, etc.)
  • Serve as manager or mentor to more junior associates
  • Support EMEA sales team in submitting proposals and signing new contracts

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Extensive experience in the actuarial market
  • Experience in B2B sales, consulting or solution services is highly advantageous
  • Proven outstanding network within the EMEA insurance industry at C-level
  • Exposure to and experience with IFRS 17 / Risk Capital requirements
  • Proven track record in assessing business and client needs and prioritising success accordingly
  • Experience in managing sophisticated relationships
  • Qualified actuary is preferred but not essential
  • Fluent in English is required, but knowledge of German would be a plus
